Swan Rangers Hike Peters-Strawberry Loop

Seven Swan Rangers hiked a loop up Peters Ridge Trail, south along Alpine Trail #7, then down Strawberry Lake Trail on Saturday, September 1. (Photos by Keith Hammer)

Wildflowers continue to bloom in the high country, as in the meadow along Alpine Trail #7, above.

The day turned windy, with a welcome clearing out of the smokey air!

Sadly, it appears some sort of raptor died along the swithback portion of Peters Ridge Trail!

Lunch was eaten near the junction of Alpine #7 and Jimmie Ridge trails - and it was NOT raptor!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
