Keith Hammer celebrates Spring with this photo of Skunk cabbage, which use energy from their roots/rhizomes to boost temperatures in the companion purple flowering spathe to 70 degrees F in below-freezing air temps! Click here and scroll down for more details!

Pat Jaquith found a Williamson's sapsucker hard at work while . . .

. . . Keith Hammer found where something had been busy as a Beaver on this 8" diameter Birch!

Keith also found a Conk helping this smaller Birch decay and . . .

. . . elk feeding on hay field green-up following a snow squall!

In our parting shot of a snow squall, Norma Linsky shows us what appears to be a UFO emerging from a blue "sucker hole" in the clouds!
