Twelve Swan Rangers broke trail through deep snow up South Krause Creek on Saturday, December 26, 2015!

They made it all the way up to the Strawberry Lake Road, which provided a loop return to Foothill Road!

Swan Rangers Ski North Krause!

Twelve Swan Rangers skied and snowshoed the north fork of Krause Basin on Saturday, December 19, and it didn't disappoint!

They saw tracks of wolverine, pine marten and snowhoe hare in a scene turned Winter just in time for a HAPPY SOLSTICE!

Swan Rangers Hike Foothills Ski Area!

Eighteen Swan Rangers hiked the Foothills Ski Area on Saturday, December 12, removing several deadfall from the trails in anticipation of snow!

Once enough snow falls and North Shore Nordic begins grooming these ski trails (also known as the Bigfork Community Nordic Center), however, hiking there is a no-no and snowshoes or skis are required!

Swan Rangers Hike Phillips-Estes!

Six Swan Rangers hiked trails linking the Phillips Trail to Estes Lake on Crane Mountain on Saturday, November 28, 2015!

Though it was quite nippy out, the Rangers spent most of the day on the six-mile loop - a pace one Ranger said qualified them to "run Congress!"

This is a favorite trail in Spring or Fall, though absent the ticks in the Fall!
